At The Coseley School we acknowledge the importance of praise and reward and seek to promote and reinforce our expectation of pupils at any given and relevant opportunity.
We recognise that our pupils thrive on praise, the thrill of success and the glow of recognition. Praise acknowledges the deserving, can inspire those pupils who from time to time may be struggling and can inspire and motivate those who may be disenchanted.
Finding ways to reward is at the heart of our teaching. We reward wherever and whenever possible. Pupils are rewarded for a variety of reasons, including curriculum efforts, positive attitudes, effective participation and demonstrating leadership skills.
All pupils at Coseley base their learning around ‘The Coseley Character’. We expect all pupils to demonstrate the following virtues across the whole school;
We ensure that pupils of all ability levels across the school benefit from our rewards processes and that there is consistent application of policy across all departments.
As a standard part of everyday at school, we look for ways to find pupils doing well/doing things right – and praise them for it. We make a point of thanking/praising their efforts verbally.
