ICT KS3

Year 7 and 8

In year 7 and 8, students are taught in mixed ability groups and have one lesson per week. They use a variety of interactive resources that enable them to experience real life situations and see how ICT can be used effectively in a variety of contexts.

Year 7 and 8 are using ICT4Life, which fully covers the new ICT curriculum .

The schemes for learning cover a number of areas of ICT including:

  • ICT Safety
  • Creating a Virtual School Tour
  • Spreadsheets and Databases
  • Creating Games
  • Creating Digital Videos
  • Creating an e-time capsule

Students are given the opportunities to become effective and efficient users of ICT at an independent level. The curriculum is exciting and inspires our students to use their ICT skills in other areas of their learning.

Year 9

GCSE ICT starts in Year 9 and the course leads to either ‘OCR Nationals in ICT (worth 1 GCSE) or ‘OCR National First Certificate in ICT’ qualification (worth 2 GCSEs).
