  • Year 7 – Thriller – to learn how to apply skills from the previous Unit of work to reflect a theme;
  • Year 8 – Street Dance – movement memory and performance skills;
  • Year 8 – Conflict – contact choreography and performance;
  • Year 9 – Set dance – dance technique (an initial introduction to the GCSE Dance course), and;
  • Year 9 – Group Performance – sensitivity to others and performance qualities (a foundation for the GCSE Dance course).

How will the KS3 curriculum prepare my child for life in modern Britain?

Pupils develop attributes such as communication, determination and commitment for success in dance. These attributes are valuable in the wider community in order to develop and enhance general life skills and morals and values.
