Movie Makers Club

In Sept 2015, our award winning Animation Club was re-branded as Movie Makers Club , as we shifted our focus from Animation to the wider world of movie making. New students had the opportunities to write, act, direct and edit their own movies, although we still retained our animation background to ensure our movies have amazing special effects!

We are proud to release 2 new films from the Coseley School Movie Makers Club.  These films were screened at the Lighthouse Cinema, Wolverhampton on Monday 7th March 2016, followed by a school screening on the 14th.

SOS - A Found Footage Horror Film by Year 11 Student, Elliott Cox, that took 18 months to create.

We are proud to announce that once again, Animation Club have won a major competition.

Last year 2 Animation Club students, Luke Jones and Elliott Cox won the national Animate14 competition (click HERE for last year’s winning film), then Luke Jones achieved 2nd place in the “Out of your Hands” competition for his short film “The Ghost of Common Sense” – Click HERE to view.   Luke won £100 in Amazon vouchers for himself.

This year Luke and Elliott once again joined forces to create a competition entry for the Animation15 competition – their latest effort is much more ambitious and technically advanced than anything they have done before, and out of 822 entries – they won not one, but two categories, KS4 Overall Winner and KS4 Best Characterisation.  They won a trophy for the school and £250 Amazon Vouchers each.

Animation Club has been running since 2005 and has won many awards over the years.

In 2014, Luke Jones and Elliott Cox’s short film “The Unborn” won the Animate14 event in Manchester.  Click here for more information! It is currently made up of a small group of dedicated and talented students from all  year groups.   They have just completed a 2 year project, a live action epic RISE OF THE PENGUINS which recently premièred at the Lighthouse Cinema in Wolverhampton.
